Lights Out!

STORY

Welcome to a dark dungeon! Your only friend here is your wand that can shoot up light bullets and of course, damage enemies. You sure need to light up the dungeon to see enemies and traps that will go against you, but if you choose to do so, enemies will be able to see you too!

CONCEPT

Lights Out! is  a top down shooter with a twist: You can not see traps nor enemies in this dark dungeon. You can use your wand to shoot at enemies and to light up the dungeon. But be careful with using lights, enemies get attracted to a bright light and will charge at you! This game contains two levels, each with its own enemies and traps.

This game is a game jam (for university assignment!) that has 3 diversifiers:

1. This is our starlight: implement a light system that affects player visibility. In this game, lighting is important because you can not see enemies nor traps without the use of light. The visibility here doesn't mean that the player can not see the map; players can see the maps but they can not see traps nor enemies.
2. Why are you running: player movement has risks. When players walk, with or without light, it does have its own risks. Without light, you can not see enemies and trap, hence, damaging you if you hit them. With light, you can see enemies and traps, but enemies will charge at you fast. So be careful when traversing the dungeon!
3. Mata batin: Something that exist may not be visible. Continuing with the light mechanic, you can not see lot of things that can harm you (without the lights, of course). A lot of things are not visible without the lights.

CONTROLS

• Use W, A, S, D to move
• Left click to shoot
• Hold left click to charge. It will produce light while you are not shooting it.
